First Church Hikers

First Church hiking enthusiasts will gather on Saturday Sept. 20, to drive to Soapstone Natural Area to learn about the history, followed by a short hike along the Towhee Trail. We'll assemble at the South parking lot at church to carpool there. Joan Carter, a volunteer with the City's Natural Areas Dept., will share information about the location, its remoteness, its importance history. It's beautiful, but can be quite windy! Bring water and a snack. Join us at 8:00 -- we'll leave by 8:15. Feel free to drive your own car there!  (No fee to park.)  We'll likely wrap up around 11:00 and be back at the church by noon.
