Shared mission of service.

FAITH FAMILY HOSPITALITY

Faith Family Hospitality gives shelter and meals to families experiencing homelessness. First Church hosts families 4 times a year. Meals are prepared in the Church Main Kitchen and served in Fellowship Hall. Each family uses a classroom in the Youth Basement or the Upper Room at night. The overnight hosts spend the night in Village Commons. Set-up and clean-up happen on Sundays. Volunteers do laundry at home. Sign-up to donate food and to volunteer at the Missions Corner in Fellowship Hall for a month preceding the next rotation.

Sign Up for October 26 to November 9
It's almost time again to welcome unhoused families at our church! We have another two week hosting - our guests will be here from October 26 to November 9 - two weeks! This is wonderful for our families, for whom moving every week can be so difficult. And it means we have an extra challenge this time - filling all our spots for TWO WEEKS!

As we temporarily bring them into our community, we need help! Some shifts are family friendly (dinner preparation), some can be done at home (laundry), some are require some elbow grease (evening clean up), some are fun (child care Tuesday evenings), and some even let you sleep on the job (overnight hosts).  And all the evening shifts include dinner!  We are also looking for food donations to feed our guests. And remember, this time we have DOUBLE the shifts and need DOUBLE the food!

So look for the white board at the Missions Table in Fellowship Hall between services, or sign up online for the shifts that you want by clicking the button below.

Thank you for your hospitality!
