Worship

Sundays in December

We worship every Sunday at 9:00 am & 10:30 am, in-person or online. During December our services include the lighting of the Advent wreath, extra music, and messages that speak to getting the most out of Christmas.

Blue Christmas

A service for those who are stressed, lonely, or hurting. Sunday, December 21 at 7:00 pm. Reflective, simple, and filled with space for any and all of the difficult feelings that can accompany the holiday season.

Christmas Eve

All our Christmas Eve services
include your favorite carols
and “Silent Night” by candle light.
The 1 & 3 pm Services are
designed with children in mind
- with visits from our puppets.
The 5 & 7 pm Services include choir,
instrument ensemble, bells, and a message to bring hope. Children will love and are welcome at all our services.

Special Events for Children

Christmas Craft Fun Day

Ornaments, cookies, decorations… kids make it all at this energy and spirit filled afternoon. Join us December 7 from 2-4 pm for crafting, activities, and treats.

Children’s Musical

Experience the meaning of the Christmas Story through the voices and joy of our children.  Join us for our annual Christmas Pageant on Monday, December 15 at 6:30 pm. Children are invited to act out the Nativity story accompanied by many beloved Christmas carols.  

Christmas Eve Services

We welcome your children, and any noises or busyness they bring with them, at all our services. Always. We have designed our 1 & 3 pm Christmas Eve services with shorter attention spans in mind. With multiple puppet vignettes and a faster rhythm to the service.

Music Sunday

Every Sunday in Advent is filled with the wonderful sounds of Christmas… December 14 just has more! The choir, bells, instrument ensemble, and organ accompany incredible music to experience and join in.
During worship at 9:00 am and 10:30 am

CSU Holiday Concert

The CSU choral area presents the popular annual holiday event! Kick off your holiday season on December 9 at 7:30 pm with the Chamber Choir, directed by Dr. James Kim, the Concert Choir, directed by Dr. Nathan Payant, and the University Chorus for an evening filled with good cheer and festive favorites.

Colorado Bach Ensemble

Handel’s beloved Messiah returns to Colorado Bach Ensemble, highlighting the holiday season with a complete performance of this brilliant and inspiring masterwork. Composed in 1741, its Dublin premiere began a remarkable ascent as one of the great pillars of classical music in the hearts and minds of audiences worldwide. First Church hosts the Colorado Bach Ensemble December 14 at 2:30 pm.
