Supporting Families in Need with our Easter Offering

We do our best to make unhoused families feel at home when they stay with us through Family Housing Network’s “Faith Family Hospitality” program. 

Eight weeks each year, two weeks at a time, up to three families live in our building, supported by teams of volunteers. It is meaningful, relational work. And it meets an immediate need. 

But it does not offer the stability and dignity these families truly deserve. 

That is why Family Housing Network is purchasing a new building- one that will allow them to house up to seven families at a time, creating a more consistent, supportive environment where families can begin to rebuild their lives. 

As a congregation, we have committed to supporting this essential ministry with a $75,000 gift toward their capital campaign. 

On Easter, every dollar offered will go to this effort.* 

Easter is the story of new life. Of hope where there was none. Of God’s love transforming the world. 

I invite you to prayerfully consider how God might work through your generosity in this special offering. Together, we have the opportunity to support new beginnings for generations to come.

We are one of 22 faith communities that are part of the Fort Collins area Family Housing Network - Faith Family Hospitality. We provide dinner and overnight safety to families who are currently without homes. It takes many volunteers to make each week a success.

First Church hosts families 4 weeks a year. Meals are prepared in the Church Main Kitchen and served in Fellowship Hall. Each family uses a classroom in the Youth Basement or the Upper Room at night. The overnight hosts spend the night in Village Commons. Set-up and clean-up happen on Sundays. Volunteers do laundry at home. Sign-up to donate food and to volunteer at the Missions Corner in Fellowship Hall for a month preceding the next rotation.
