Wesleyan Pilgrimage to England

I’m excited to invite you to join me for a Wesleyan Pilgrimage to England, June 12–18, 2027.

This trip will be a little different from a traditional group tour. Rather than booking everyone into the same flights and hotel package, participants will make their own flight and lodging arrangements, giving you the freedom to use airline miles, choose the accommodations that work best for you, or add time in England before or after our pilgrimage.

June 12 and 18 will be travel days, with our shared programming taking place June 13–17.
During those five days, we’ll explore some of the places that shaped John and Charles Wesley and the early Methodist movement. Our intended itinerary includes significant Methodist sites in London, Oxford, and Bristol; places connected to Aldersgate, Wesley’s Chapel, the beginnings of the Methodist movement at Oxford, the New Room in Bristol, and the story of how a movement that began with a few people seeking a deeper life with God grew to reach communities around the world.

But this won’t simply be a history tour. My hope is that it will truly be a pilgrimage: learning the story, standing in the places where it unfolded, and considering what that story might have to say to our own lives and faith today.

Our days will include Methodist history, visits to significant sites, conversation, and opportunities for reflection. Evenings will generally be free, so you can explore London and the other places we visit, enjoy dinner on your own or with friends, see a show, visit another museum or site, or simply have some downtime.

That flexibility is intentional. We’ll have a meaningful shared experience during the day without feeling as though every moment of the trip has been scheduled for you.

We will hold a ten-minute information session on the morning of October 11, immediately following both services.
